Donney Wright grew up on the north side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, surrounded by poverty and drug activity. Instead of turning to a destructive lifestyle, he found creative writing as a positive outlet. He also kept busy by being involved in his local teen community center, seeking out male mentors for healthy guidance. Still, he felt the absence of his biological father. That feeling stayed with him until he heard about God's relentless love towards him. I remember hearing that God wanted a relationship with me and that His love was greater than any of the emptiness and hurt that I experienced in my life.” That stuck with him; it resonated in such a way that he began to live a life that honored what he believed in. He has shared his music for well over a decade and continues to inspire and point people to the hope that he has.
